On Wednesday, January 18, 2012, I attended a seminar in Boutwells Town Hall on avoiding falls — my \u201cscore\u201d showed me to be very unlikely to experience a fall — I was proud!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Had a wonderful day! Tennis at 10:00 — I was fine! Angela Johnson, a tennis friend and writer for the \u201cWoodbury Patch\u201d (http:\/\/woodbury.patch.com) came home with me for lunch because Dorothy wanted to meet her. Jean Ann (Dorothy\u2019s niece) fixed a great lunch. The Woodbury Patch article showed my picture in tennis garb and said nice things about me and my tennis competence at just a few weeks before my 90th<\/sup> birthday — I was proud!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next I went to \u201cwater aerobics\u201d at the Boutwell’s pool — then to a meeting of the Boutwell’s \u201carchive Committee\u201d. Nothing to be proud of but fun activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not much dinner, early bedtime. 2:00 AM I found myself on the bathroom floor with a sore spot in my ribs — hmm, I must have had a fall! <\/strong>Back to bed and sound sleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8:00 AM as I was taking my blood pressure — 83\/44 UGH!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dorothy — \u201cWhat are you doing?\u201d Me — \u201cI must have had a fall and was checking\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dorothy — \u201cYou moron –you should have awakened me!\u201d Me — \u201cBut you would have called 911 and I wanted more sleep\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dorothy — \u201cI\u2019m calling 911 now!\u201d Me — \u201cNo, I\u2019m OK\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dorothy — \u201cI\u2019m calling Mona\u201d (daughter in law, nurse practitioner and mentor.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(En-route to Dr.) Mona — \u201cYou probably had too much coffee and too little water.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Me — \u201cYou mean too much water and not enough coffee??\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doctor — \u201cYou\u2019ve had too much coffee and too little water.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(En-route home) — \u201cHey Mona, can we stop for a full glass of water, a half cup of coffee and a sweet?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
