I knew and remember the house well! It was built in 1914, the year after Hans\/Danielle wedding. Don’t know who designed it — it was similar to numerous other “mission cottages” on Kikung. 1 “bedroon\/office (SE corner.) bedroom (just north) and bath\/toilet (next north).\u00a0 Water line from kitchen to bathroom for hot water at bath time. Outdoor porch on S with wonderful W sunset view–our dinners were served there.\u00a0 Kitchen (wood cooking range) was\u00a0 basically a “lean-to” addition on the North. There was a “screen porch” just W of Lv Rm which was my BR.\u00a0 Lower level were servant quarters, bsmt “work” rm (shop) and another toilet (under porch).\u00a0\u00a0 I did a sketch but it didn’t copy so I will have to try again! Toilet “products” were collected every few days.\u00a0 Kitchen had wood-burning cooking “range” and water was just outside the kitchen door in large “gongs” replenished by a water carrier from Jigong’s wonderful spring every day or two.\u00a0 The free-flowing spring supplied the entire community and was one reason Jigong was selected as the “resort”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will try a drawing again and sent it on. If you have “questions” send them on and I will try to provide specifics in the drawing<\/p>\n\n\n\n
